Etiquette be damned, you say? You can say it, you can act on it. But, if you use labels to address your wedding invitations, you will, umm, be judged. By somebody. That creepy awful judging, never said, just thought. (I know it well, the queen of the faux pas is writing this …)
A lesson from Great Dames through the centuries: You can get away with anything, as long as you do certain things grandly.
Printing your guests’ names out using your computer printer is certainly an acceptable option.
Especially if you use lovely fonts and typographic high style.
Printing your guest’s name on a label and slapping that label on an envelope, is just a wee bit tacky. Especially white labels.
If you have Illustrator or graphic design software, you can open the flap of the envelope, and print your return address on the flap, as you’re printing your guest’s name and address on the front. In one pass. A DIY time save. And face saver…
