Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked QuestionsWedding Invitations and Wedding StationeryAre all your Invitations DIY? Even the printing? Do-it-yourself invitation and stationery kits are sold 2 ways: You can print desktop, laser or inkjet. See article about DIY Desktop Printing. We can print for you, either offset or letterpress. See Offset Printing at Invitesite. How Can I Tell which Papers Are Eco-Friendly and which are not? Any of the invitations listed under 'Eco' in the 'Style' section of the Pull Down Menu are super earth-friendly. See Eco Wedding Invitations. These designs use treefree papers and postconsumer recycled papers. Bright white (non-cotton) papers are 50% postconsumer paper. All our other papers in the eco category are 100% postconsumer recycled paper. Otherwise, we state in the description which papers are tree-free or post consumer recycled. Can I make substitutions or changes to a design?
In most cases, we can change out a ribbon or a flower. Changing a paper that we use for a wrapper or folder is usually cost-prohibitive. Please call us or email to ask about a possible substitution. Also, you will have to place the order by phone, rather than through our online cart, if we are going to exchange out parts for you. I have an idea for my own design, can I just buy parts? Unfortunately, no. Is the assembly hard? How long will it take? Some designs are very simple to assemble, some involve more time. At our factory, we diecut and score the wrappers to make assembly much easier. Any design that is a booklet style (Coco, Concha and Deirdre for example) require the most time commitment. Our best advice is to organize an assembly party. If you are also printing the invitations, it's best to complete that task with just one other person. Once everything is printed and cut, gather some of your favorite people and have a crafting good time.
If you are printing your own
If we are printing for you Do your templates include fonts? What fonts can I use if I am printing at home? We are not a licensed reseller of fonts. If you are in love with a font that you do not already have on your own computer, you will have to purchase your font from a dealer. We recommend MyFonts. Some fairly good fonts can be found for free, but we cannot link to any sites because they are unreliable. We supply you with templates that work in Microsoft Word to make it easy to work with our custom paper sizes. Having InviteSite print for you is a good value. When you print your own you will be printing 2 or four on a sheet, then cutting the sheets afterward. This is because of the limitations of many printers, and because it reduces the time it takes to run all the sheets through the hand-feed. When we print for you, everything arrives printed, cut to size, and ready for you to assemble (assembly is more fun than printing, especially if you hold an assembly party). The fonts we offer can be seen here.
